I started working for the English Partner way back in 2013, just as I arrived from my stint in South Korea. It was a relief for me to have the opportunity to land for a decent job because I thought that after returning in my own country, it would be hard for me to get a job again.

I never thought that working for the English Partner could be this challenging, interesting and enjoyable. There are things that I can gripe about because of long hours sitting down in front of my nook and talk with Chinese students about IELTS. However, I would say that indeed, English Partner is an excellent company to work with!

I love my job… I absolutely enjoy having fun with the classes that I have with my students most of the time-probably because of the fact that I somehow have this Chinese genes and blood running in my veins too (my grandmother is partly/half Chinese anyway). Most importantly, this company helped me to develop my full potential being an effective IELTS teacher-partner for my beloved Chinese students.

We have a purpose-a mission in the English Partner that we need to fulfill. That in due time, we can help students to achieve their dreams of improving themselves in their studies and to become the professionals that they want to be in their chosen career. At the end of the day, even after a grueling hours of speaking, teaching and exchange of ideas with my students, the appreciation that I get from them is quite satisfying. Working in English Partner fulfilled my dreams to become a teacher. It has been my passion since then, so when I was hired to become an IELTS teacher, I was totally delighted to accept the opportunity.

In here there is always room for improvement, but what makes me stay and continue to mentor Chinese students is seeing them improved their oral English skills and most especially if they achieved their desired target score.

It’s overwhelming as well hearing them saying “THANK YOU TEACHER FOR BEING SO PATIENT AND HELPING ME ACHIEVED MY TARGET SCORE. NOW I CAN PURSUE MY DREAMS ABROAD”. I think the best part as a mentor, is not just molding them to be a good or excellent students, but as well as being their friend even outside the class.
